Around Halifax

March 8th-10th

With two engineering students on the men’s basketball team, Cedric Sanogo and Samuel Wade, the AUS Basketball Championship was one to watch. The men’s team won the AUS Championship on March 3rd with a 65-55 win over Saint Mary’s University, while unfortunately, the women’s team lost to the eventual winners, Acadia University, in the quarter final. The U-Sports Men’s Basketball Final 8 was also hosted in Halifax from March 8th-10th. After conquering the Atlantic provinces, the Dalhousie men’s team played against universities from across the country. After beating University of British Columbia in the quarter finals, the Tigers fell to the eventual champions, Carleton University, 76-65 and had to settle for a consolation game where they lost to Ryerson University 84-66. Dalhousie is extremely proud of both teams and are proud of the men’s team for placing 4th in the nation.
